Environmental Design.....................................................
At V2 Design we believe the environment is important so we educate our clients on options for making their project more efficient, healthier, and lower energy costs.
The sustainable strategies we use are: natural day-lighting, night flushing, low-water-use plumbing fixtures, materials with high recycled content, photovoltaic electrical generation system, geothermal to provide more efficient heating, and passive solar for reduction in heating costs. Projects are designed to fit into their communities, designed to meet clients needs, and designed to be environmentally sensitive. At V2, we believe design should last, good design should last even longer, our projects will be used beyond a 100 year time frame.

The Reality Check
Is a 2 hour, $500 in home consultation with one of the visionary minds at V2 Design.
Perhaps the most sustainable thing we can do is learn to adapt our existing housing stock; essentially, recycle our homes. Yet, too often it's difficult to see how our existing homes could be adapted to fit the lifestyle of a modern family. The Reality Check is our quest to open your eyes to the possibilities that exist in your current home.
Here's how it works. Email us, or call us: 406.624.6627, within a few days, we'll give you a call to schedule your Reality Check. Then, we show up with a tape measure, tracing paper, pen and a calculator. You give us the grand tour and your vision of how you want to live. We take some basic measurements and sketch a general floor plan of what you currently have. We then will present you with a thoughtful, personalized design.
Philosophy...........................................................................
Listen
We open our ears to the client’s needs. A design style is not imposed on our clients. Our solutions are found by listening to the design parameters for opportunities for to create unique and creative solutions. The design process begins with clients telling their stories.
Learn
After listening to our client’s dreams for their project, we do some research. We examine what options are available. What elements of green design will fit this client’s needs. Are we trying to be cost conscious? We don’t believe that today’s solutions will fix tomorrow’s problems so we are willing to examine all possibilities. Do we look to nature to find answers? What challenges are we being presented? How can we find the design to fit their needs? Through the process we determine which avenues are appropriate for the project, for the budget and ultimately for the client.
We are professionals but we still continue to learn. At V2 design, we embrace new technology to utilize the new tools available to their advantage: for better project management, more accurate estimating, and enhanced energy analysis tools. Bettering ourselves serves the interest of our clients and their projects, plus we enjoy learning.
Create
Each design we create for our client is unique. We take the information we hear, and the research we do, to create an unique concept. The creation portion is an inclusive process. We believe in using the best resources available. So our projects become like a collaborative art piece. The art piece starts with some brush strokes from the client. Through research and discussion with our talented and specialized consultants a few more brushes strokes strike the page. These brush strokes are where the designing begins. Through the process of sketching we discover a series of designs. By carefully analyzing the designs we discover the best options, these are what we share with our clients.
Part of making the process inclusive involves active listening. Listening is when we focus on hearing our client’s needs. It starts in the beginning and continues through out the process. Once we have an understanding of the project we start to do some research to discover the creative solutions. In the design process, we are continually learning; we pursue new ways to use materials, forms and technology. We don’t believe that today’s solutions will fix tomorrows problems so we need to be willing to examine all possibilities. Through our team of specialists we can discover the solution that is right for your project. The creating aspect feeds off the information discovered through research and analysis. The design evolves through the feedback process with the client, contractor and consultants. The process is continuous and collaborative; we work as a team with a common goal of creating a successful, environmentally friendly project.
